Global Chance est une association de scientifiques qui s’est donné pour objectif de tirer parti de la prise de conscience des menaces qui pèsent sur l’environnement global (“global change”) pour promouvoir les chances d’un développement mondial équilibré. L’association se propose de mettre les compétences scientifiques de ses membres au service d’une expertise publique multiple et contradictoire, de l’identification et de la promotion de réponses collectives, nouvelles et positives aux menaces de changement global, dans les domaines scientifique et technique, économique et financier, politique et réglementaire, social et culturel, dans un esprit de solidarité Nord Sud, d’humanisme et de démocratie. Elle publie Les Cahiers de Global Chance, une revue a pour vocation de relayer les scientifiques indépendants dans leur prise de conscience des menaces qui pèsent sur l’environnement global.
